February—the month of love, cupid, candy hearts, roses and… teen dating violence awareness.

FRC is Raising Awareness About Teen Dating Violence

What do teens (and their parents) need to know to prevent and end dating violence?

FRC invites you to join us in raising awareness about Teen Dating Violence. Our social media posts throughout the month will focus on various aspects of these issues.  Here are some ways you can help us bring these important topics to the forefront in our community:
• Volunteer to make and distribute awareness ribbons and information
• Organize an event or awareness table in your school, club, organization or church
• Invite FRC to present to your group (online or in person)
• Share FRC’s posts via social media (or create your own):

From LoveIsRespect.org: Dating violence is more common than people think, especially among teens and young adults: one in three teens in the US will experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from someone they’re in a relationship with before they become adults, and nearly half (43%) of college women report experiencing violent or abusive dating behaviors.

Every February, young people and their loved ones join together across the country for a national effort to raise awareness about the issue of teen dating violence through Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM). This annual, month-long push focuses on advocacy and education to stop dating abuse before it starts.

We are so excited to announce the theme for TDVAM 2022 is Talk About It. Talk About It is a call to action to young people and those who support them to engage in meaningful conversations about healthy relationships and navigate what may be unhealthy or even abusive.
